Apple vs Dell laptop
Dell’s new XPS 15 is a formidable machine, and it’s looking to take the fight to Apple’s MacBook Pro for a larger slice of the lucrative high-end laptop market. However, Apple has a reputation for leaving a long time between new versions of its flagship Macbooks and while that usually means each release comes with hot new features crammed in, Apple does tend to leave its loyal fans on tenterhooks.
Take a look at Apple’s Broadwell-based 12-inch retina MacBook. It has seen some pretty important hardware updates, including a thinner Retina display (paper thin, in fact), USB-C and a redesigned trackpad. All of these extras make it a very attractive option, so if you're after the very latest Apple notebook, it has plenty to offer.
MacBook Pros have proved amazingly popular thanks to their Retina displays, PCIe flash storage and phenomenal battery life. How then, can Dell’s latest Windows 10 machine, the XPS 15, challenge the class-leading OS X device?
This sleekly designed machine not only packs plenty of performance muscle, its feature set and software capabilities make it a top choice for enterprise and entertainment.Dell's XPS 15 is the cheaper of the two devices, starting at £1,099 while the 15-inch MacBook Pro starts at £1,599.However, some enormous savings are now on offer for the 2015 iterations of the MacBook 15-inch and 12-inch models, thanks to rumours of the 2016 MacBooks launching in the summer.Retailers are trying to clear their shelves to make space for the brand new laptops due later this year and spring discounts have started. More on the next MacBooks is expected at this year's WWDC.
Until then, we break down what you can expect from Dell and Apple's machines now.
